Privacy Policy

Effective: May 18, 2026Last updated: May 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how codedparagon, LLC (“codedparagon,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the iMentality mobile application (“iMentality” or the “App”). It applies to your use of the App on any Apple device.

If you have questions about this policy, please contact us at hello@codedparagon.com.

1. The short version

iMentality is built around a simple promise: your private check-ins stay yours.

The rest of this policy explains the details.

2. Who we are

codedparagon, LLC is a North Carolina limited liability company. iMentality is its product. We are the data controller for the limited information described in this policy.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you create inside the App

When you use iMentality, you create journal entries and related tags. This includes:

This content stays on your device. If you sign in with Apple, this content also syncs to your personal iCloud account through Apple’s NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore. codedparagon never receives or sees this content. We have no server infrastructure that ingests, stores, or processes journal data.

3.2 Information from Sign in with Apple

If you choose to sign in with Apple, the App receives:

This information is used solely to (a) recognize you across sessions and devices and (b) link your account to your iCloud-synced data. We do not use it for marketing and we do not share it with third parties.

You can use the App anonymously without signing in. In that case, no Apple ID information is collected, and data stays only on your device.

3.3 Subscription and purchase information

If you purchase a subscription or a Lifetime license, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. codedparagon does not receive your payment information. We receive only the result of Apple’s transaction verification (whether your subscription is active) so the App can unlock premium features on your device.

3.4 Information we do not collect

The App does not collect, and the developer does not receive:

4. How information is stored

Journal entries, people tags, context tagsYour device’s local storage + your iCloud account (if signed in with Apple)You, via the App on your devices

We do not operate a backend. There is no codedparagon database holding your information.

iCloud transfers and at-rest storage are encrypted by Apple. See Apple’s iCloud security overview for details.

5. How we use information

We use the limited information described above only to:

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the App.

6. Sharing of information

We do not share your information with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose. There are no third-party SDKs in the App that receive your data.

The only parties involved in the operation of the App other than codedparagon are:

We do not share information with your employer, your employer’s representatives, HR departments, opposing counsel, private investigators, insurers, or any other third party that may seek information about you or your use of the App. We will not voluntarily respond to such inquiries. The Terms of Use, Section 10, contains additional provisions about workplace, HR, and third-party use of the App.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law (for example, in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or warrant) — but because we hold almost no information about you and have no copy of your journal entries, there is very little we could produce in such a case. We reserve the right to object, move to quash, or notify you of any such process, except where prohibited by law.

7. Reports you generate and export

When you generate a report inside the App, the resulting PDF is created on your device. If you choose to share it (via the iOS share sheet, AirDrop, email, messaging apps, etc.), the destination of that share is your choice and outside our control. Once you share a report, the recipient may store it.

8. Your rights and controls

You can, at any time:

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you additional rights — for example, the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any such right, contact us at hello@codedparagon.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8.1 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the legal bases on which we process your limited information are:

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8.2 California (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise them, contact us at hello@codedparagon.com.

9. Children

iMentality is intended for users 17 years of age or older and is rated accordingly in the App Store. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). If you believe we have inadvertently received information from a child, please contact us at hello@codedparagon.com and we will delete it.

10. Security

We rely on Apple’s platform security for the data flows involved:

No system is perfectly secure. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us at hello@codedparagon.com.

11. International users

codedparagon, LLC is based in North Carolina, United States. By using the App, you understand that any information processed in connection with your use is handled in accordance with this policy and applicable U.S. law, with the additional rights set out in Sections 8.1 and 8.2 where they apply to you.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after the change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
